My StrideBox came in last week and even though I’m not running that much right now, I still got pretty excited. There are two reasons why.

1. I like it when blog material literally shows up on my door step.

2. You never know what is going to be in this fun little box.

So, what’s in the box? (That was not a creepy movie quote from the movie Seven with Brad Pitt by the way!)

Barnana Original Organic Chewy Banana Bites

Even though I'm on a Low Carb diet right now, I decided that for my readers I would go ahead and try these even though they aren't low carb. You guys totally twisted my arm! :)
When I opened the bag, it was not what I was expecting. I was picturing the thinly cut banana chips that you would find in trail mix. These are like little brown banana nuggets. They aren't bad. I made the Hubbo try one too and he said they sort of taste like banana nut bread.
Interesting Details:
  • NonGMO
  • 140 Calories per serving (5 chunks)
  • Zero refined sugar, preservatives, & cholesterol
  • 100% Raw & Unprocessed

ENERGYbits - Chlorella & Spirulina Algae Tabs

I've been following this brand on Twitter for a while now and it seems that a lot of runners use ENERGYbits.
Warning! Read the directions on how to consume these! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT CHEW!!!
I decided I wanted to write this blog tonight and I hadn't tried these yet so I popped one in my mouth thinking I'd just chew it up. Worst. Idea. Ever! The packaging is a little lacking in the directions though. It came in a small black zip-lock baggie that only makes me feel like a part time drug dealer when I open it up. But after I chewed one up and nearly gagged, I read the StrideGuide and it says to swallow 20-30 tabs 5-10 minutes before running for consistent energy. Good to know! The little dark dots in the picture are the "bits".

The Mystery Gift!
When I first opened the StrideBox I saw this first and didn't recognize what it was. So I took it out and figured it was the world's largest slap bracelet. These things are making a come-back you know! I had like 5 in the 80's and thought they were the coolest thing ever.
I was just about to send StrideBox a tweet when I got checked my email and noticed an email from them explaining what this really is. Slap bracelet? Yes! But it is actually a lot more useful than that. It's a blinky light you can wear on your wrist or your ankle. Much more functional than the world's largest slap bracelet!

Nuun Hydration Tabs
You say it like Noon. I use these all the time and absolutely love them! There really are very few flavors that I just don't like. I did try their new product line called All Day Nuun and it is supposed to release slowly to keep you hydrated longer, but it tastes more like medicine. But everything else is good. This product is like a non-sugary version of Gatorade.

Clif Bar Mini Energy Bar, Clif Shot Gel, Clif Shot Bloks

I may have had a slight addiction to Clif Energy Bars at one point in time. Since I have started watching my carbs I had to put them aside, but I'm definitely a Clif Bar fan!

Interesting Facts:
  • Made with Organic Rolled Oats
  • 1% For the Planet - Means they care about the environment too!
  •  ClifBar company started on a 175 mile bike ride
  • No Trans Fats, Hydrogenated Oils or High Fructose Corn Syrup

Do any of you subscribe to this running box as well or another one? I’m curious to see if people get the same thing that I get in each box. Let me know!

Let me know what you think about the ENERGYbits. I really want to try them, but I don't want to spend $100+ on something I've never tried.

I didn't realize how expensive they were until I got them in my StrideBox. Are you on Twitter? You may tweet them and see if they have smaller portions or samples available. They are a pretty active company on Twitter.
I'll keep you posted!

I am also interested in your thoughts on the energy bits? Did they work...did they cause any gastric discomfort? If you suppose to swallow that many how many come in each package?

I have tried the nuun and like it alot. I can't tolerate Gatorade at all...nuun is so much easier on my sensitive stomach

The sample I received had about 30 tablets in it. The tablets are about the same size as an aspirin. I only ate one so that probably wasn't a good enough sample to see if they would cause any GI stress. They retail on their website for $115 for 1000 tablets. When I try these I'll definitely let you know.

The pills made you feel like a drug dealer! LOL Actually at that price...

Right? And they came in a small plastic black baggie. I'm pretty sure that is a very common item in a drug dealer's house!

I received my box over the weekend. So fun! Hubby and I are sharing ours. I also received a Hammer lip balm that so far is working amazing! Loved it! I also got the slap bracelet. I think hubby will use that more than I since I'm not a big run at night gal. Looking forward to May!

The Hubbo and I share this too! Which is good because sometimes they send gender-specific products. I got the Hammer lip balm, but I tend to hate anything on my lips so I skipped it in the write up in fairness to the brand. :)
What color is your slap bracelet?
